Supporting All Who Serve
Pro Allies is a community of current and former military, first responders, and their families—coming together in safe spaces to share, listen, and support one another. No ranks, no reports, just understanding and connection.
A Message from Our Founder
Each day in the United States, 22 military veterans and numerous first responders die by suicide. That’s 14 times the rate of those killed in combat in Iraq or Afghanistan.
My name is Rodney Gasaway. I’m an ordained clergy member, military veteran, fire chaplain, motorcyclist, and the founder and executive director of Pro Allies.
Let me tell you our story.
As both a chaplain and a veteran motorcyclist, I often meet people who approach me in need of comfort, advice, or prayer. One day, I met a firefighter who was struggling with his faith. I invited him to a Bible study. On the day of the study, he had experienced a deeply traumatic call at work. He bravely shared a small part of that experience with the group—but it made others visibly uncomfortable. He never came back. I haven’t seen him since.
In that moment, I realized something important: he—and so many others like him—had no safe place to talk. They often carry their burdens alone, feeling isolated and misunderstood.
That’s why I started Pro Allies.
Pro Allies is a grassroots nonprofit offering real-time support for law enforcement, fire and emergency medical personnel, military veterans, and their families. We do this through shared stories, a trusted referral network, and the sustaining power of daily prayer.
No one should have to carry their pain alone. At Pro Allies, we stand beside those who serve, offering hope, understanding, and connection—one prayer at a time.
